Scott J. Ramsey is the director, co-writer, and editor of "X", the first feature length movie presented by The Foundation, which he wrote with frequent collaborator and "X" producer Hannah Katherine Jost. He is also the vocalist and songwriting half of musical duo The Major Arcana, alongside "X" producer Kevin De Nicolo. A proud alumnus of the Epsilon Chapter of Delta Kappa Alpha at San Francisco State University where he earned a BA in Fiction Filmmaking and befriended many of his "X" collaborators, Ramsey was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently lives in Los Angeles.
Hannah Katherine Jost
Producer, Co-Writer, Production Designer
Hannah Jost was born in Kirkland, WA and began taking acting classes at the age of 5. When she was 11 years old she moved to California and began to develop as a writer. She studied theatre, playwriting, and poetry through the International Baccalaureate program at Great Oak High School in Temecula, CA. In 2011 she continued her studies at SF State where she met Scott J. Ramsey through Delta Kappa Alpha, a co-ed cinema Fraternity. She received her Bachelor’s in Film Production as well as a minor in Dramatic Arts, in 2015. “X” is her first feature film and she currently lives in Los Angeles.
Kevin De Nicolo
Kevin De Nicolo is a musician and producer originally from Saratoga, California. Having developed a passion for all things arts and entertainment, Kevin attended San Francisco State University where he became involved in film production as well as composing. Kevin also played in multiple bands during his tenure in San Francisco. Kevin’s desire to compose music for films and visual medium led him to begin producing films with his fellow film students. After graduating with his bachelors degree in cinema, Kevin relocated to Los Angeles to continue pursuing a career in music and develop his skills as a songwriter, composer, and producer. Since moving to Los Angeles, Kevin has also started his own label called Mirtillo Records creating music and sounds for the mobile game BentoBlox. Kevin also releases electronic music under the name Sulkin’ Raven.
Chantel Beam was born in Anaheim , CA and had an instant love for the arts. At a young age, she began her classical training in ballet. Upon her family getting a new camera when She was a teenager, Chantel ended up being the primary user of it. Her adoration for ballet never left, but the focus of her future turned to the camera. In 2009, she started in the film program at San Francisco State University where she received her degree. At SFSU, it became clear that cinematography would be the perfect career path. “X” was Chantel’s first feature film she shot and she strives to work on projects that she feels passionately about, in particular queer cinema.
Co-Composer, Post-Audio Engineer
Originally from Sacramento, CA, Lien grew up on punk, jazz, and ska which pushed her to pursue a B.A. in Music at UCDavis. There she took the classical route in ethnomusicology/ percussion performance as well as graphic design. During that time she became deeply ingrained in the college freeform radio station KDVS 90.3fm which exposed her to experimental electronic music, recording and creating music on different DAWs, and film. Back then and since then, she has played in various bands and continues to do so while joining Different Fur Studios in 2015. She started as an intern and now is involved in engineering, designing, and community organizing at the studio. She is a writer for Text Me Records and she also works with Matthew Pereira under the name LIEMA for their film audio company.
Sound Designer, Post-Audio Engineer
Matthew Pereira is a sound designer and music producer from the east bay California. He earned his bachelors degree in Film and Digital Media from the University of California Santa Cruz, and went on to further his skills in audio production at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. He graduated there with a Master of Fine Arts in Music Production & Sound Design for Visual Media, and continued his work at the historic Different Fur Recording Studios, also in San Francisco. Matthew’s background in film and music drew him to sound design early on, as his production specializes in synthesis. At Different Fur Studios, he has continued to work as a sound designer, music producer, and engineer, and in 2017, he signed on with Text Me Records as a music writer and contributor. Matthew’s previous sound design work was for the short film XANH (2016) by Sal Tran, and most recently has released music with Text Me Records under the moniker Kōmak.
Alex De Nicolo
Alex De Nicolo is a Grip, Gaffer, and Photographer based in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas. He studied media criticism and production at San Francisco State University, where he met much of the “X” crew. While working mainly in the Grip and Electric department, he practices concert photography and occasionally produces short films, music videos, and corporate projects.
Amber-Tiana is a living, breathing, 24 hour one-woman show. Immersed in the entertainment industry essentially since birth, she has no comprehension of life without art or performance and constantly seeks to conquer the next stage, platform or medium. Her contagious positive energy and enthusiasm infect her audience and take them on creative, magical journeys through both the digital and physical worlds. All she needs is a microphone, and she’ll keep an audience entertained all night long. She’s a producer, writer, editor, actor, singer, host and live broadcaster. Her greatest pleasures in life come from seeing a project grow from idea to execution and witnessing first-hand the experiences of every person involved, from collaborators, cast and crew, all the way to the audience enjoying the product. The Amber-Tiana brand is built on seeking truth and spreading love, peace, and happiness, and any of her fans would tell you the same.
